I had both the Kino and the Eureka - and ditched the Eureka! The latter does look slightly sharper but my copy at least had no tints at all. As it's transferred from the same tinted master, this means that the heavily tinted (red) sequences on the Kino just look dark and muddy to me on the Eureka. The score is the same on both versions.
I was told by someone associated with the Eureka edition that the contrast and sharpness were artificially boosted but this could only be done by losing the tints.
I agree about the excessive tinting - I find this on almost all tinted silents (perhaps what works on a 35mm print is too much when reproduced electronically?) But I get around it by reducing the colour setting by about 50%.
Re. comments about the scores for Kino's INTOLERANCE and BROKEN BLOSSOMS, I rather liked the one for BB - and I say that as someone who normally hates synthesizers! But in both cases the orchestral scores by Carl Davis for the Photoplay editions are the best I've heard - unfortunately not available on DVD.
