While Remembering His Music
On DVD May 13, 2008 from Warner Home Video
BURBANK, CA (April 14, 2008) – On the 10th anniversary of his death, celebrate Frank Sinatra by exploring his life with the remarkable award-winning television production Sinatra (The Miniseries), arriving on DVD May 13, 2008 from Warner Home Video. Executive produced by his daughter, Tina Sinatra, this incredible recounting of Sinatra’s life features his own singing and some astonishing personal revelations. Sinatra originally aired on CBS in 1992 and won multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe® awards including “Best Made for TV Movie” (Golden Globe 1993). Now on DVD for the very first time, this two-disc DVD collector’s set is priced to own at $19.98 SRP.
Sinatra covers more than 20 years of Sinatra’s life, beginning with his spirited boyhood in Hoboken, NJ, and ending with his 1974 return from retirement. With an uncanny likeness to the legend himself, Phillip Casnoff (“Law & Order: SVU”), won a Golden Globe® nomination for his performance. Oscar® winner Olympia Dukakis (Moonstruck, Steel Magnolias) portrays his mother, Dolly, while Gina Gershon (“Ugly Betty,” Showgirls) plays Sinatra’s wife, Nancy. Oscar®-nominee Marcia Gay Harden (Mystic River, Pollock) plays the luminous Ava Gardner. More than two dozen Sinatra standards grace this lavish production and most are from the original master recordings by the “Chairman of the Board” himself.
Songs included on Sinatra are That’s Life, I Can’t Give You Anything But Love, I’ll Never Smile Again, I Fall in Love Too Easily, That Old Black Magic, All Thy Way, It Was A Very Good Year, Come Fly With Me and New York, New York.
