Get Seduced By The 40th Anniversary Edition DVD
Available September 11 From MGM Home Entertainment

All-New Bonus Content Features Audio Commentary With Dustin Hoffman, Katherine Ross, And Directors Mike Nichols And Steven Soderbergh

LOS ANGELES, CA – Regarded by film historians and movie critics as one of the key, groundbreaking films of the 1960’s, The Graduate perpetuated the satiric comedy, mirroring themes of the ever-changing lives of those in Hollywood and helping usher a new crop of younger directors to the forefront of the film industry. MGM Home Entertainment revisits one of the most illicit affairs in film history when The Graduate: 40th Anniversary Edition arrives on DVD September 11. Starring Oscarâ winners Dustin Hoffman (1980, Best Actor, Kramer vs. Kramer; 1989, Best Actor, Rain Man) and Anne Bancroft (1963, Best Actress, The Miracle Worker), The Graduate follows Benjamin Braddock (Hoffman), a young college graduate who finds himself alienated and adrift in the shifting, social and sexual mores of the 1960s and questioning the values of society. Nominated for seven Academy Awardsâ including Best Picture, Best Actor (Hoffman), Best Actress (Bancroft), Best Supporting Actress (Ross), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Cinematography, The Graduate won the Oscarâ for Best Director for then newcomer Mike Nichols (Closer, The Birdcage) who quickly became one of Hollywood’s elite directors following his win. The two-disc anniversary edition DVD features all new commentary tracks from Hoffman, Ross, Nichols and Academy Awardâ winning director Steven Soderbergh (2001, Best Director, Traffic), a new retrospective documentary about the influence of the film, behind-the-scenes featurettes and more.

The Graduate: 40th Anniversary Edition is available for the suggested retail price of $24.98 U.S. / $31.98 Canada. Prebook is August 15, 2007.

Synopsis:
Nominated* for seven Academy Awards® and winner for Best Director, this ground breaking and "wildly hilarious" (The Boston Globe) social satire launched the career of two-time Oscar®-winner** Dustin Hoffman and cemented the reputation of acclaimed director Mike Nichols. Pulsating with the rebellious spirit of the '60s and a haunting score sung by Simon and Garfunkel, The Graduate is truly a "landmark film" (Leonard Maltin). Shy Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) returns home from college with an uncertain future. Then the wife of his father's business partner, the sexy Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft), seduces him, and the affair only deepens his confusion. That is, until he meets the girl of his dreams (Katharine Ross). But there's one problem: she's Mrs. Robinson's daughter!

Re: MGM PRESS RELEASE: The Graduate 40th Anniversary Edition

I picked this up at Best Buy this morning on the way to work. Their version actually came with a bonus THIRD disc, Simon & Garfunkel's CONCERT IN CENTRAL PARK DVD.

FWIW, the CD included is just the standard stereo versions of the four songs, not any kind of "film mixes" that were actually used in the film. The front sticker also indicates that the four-song CD is available "while supplies last."
