An article about the "Last Days of Blockbusters"...

Here is the article: http://www.slate.com/id/2133995/?nav=tap3

I love how Warner offered them a rental window and they turned it down.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Wow. Say what you will about BLockbuster, but it's going to be really weird if it does go out of business completely. I hope it doesn't happen, because I still like to go there to rent video games.

Cool!

I'll be one happy camper when they shut their last door.

Now for Wal-Mart!

I would divorce myself of Blockbuster much quicker if Brighthouse would offer a better selection (and 5.1) in their HD On-Demand service.

Honestly, I tried buying movies sight-unseen, but I kept getting stuck with turkeys, still at three times a rental price-- so I still need some outlet for movies I miss in the theaters.

"If you write a story about a soldier going AWOL and kidnapping a pregnant woman and finally shooting her in the head, it's called searingly realistic, even though it's never happened in the history of mankind. Whereas if you write about two people falling in love, which happens about a million times a day all over the world, for some reason or another, you're accused of writing something unrealistic and sentimental."

Those have got to be two of the worst business decisions ever made. Oops!

Great article and I highly recommend the recent book the author has written, a real eyeopener and good read.
