A few words about Cinderalla...

Just got the screener and hope to have the review finished tomorrow (at which time I'd like for this thread to be locked as discussion can continue in the review thread) but I just wanted to give you guys a snippet of my first impressions with the video...I just have to share...

The video quality of Cinderella is:

PERFECT.

I'm dazzled and amazed. My jaw is still on the floor of my HT room where I hope to pick it back up this evening.

Audio is also very good, on par with what we have with Bambi (both the DEHT mix and the original mono track).

Extras are fantastic. Stay tuned for the HTF review...

BTW, RAH...have you had a chance to screen it yet? What are your own impressions? Just like Bambi, this raises the "film versus painted cell-artwork" debate but given the point of view that the cleanup that LDI has done is permissible...what are your thoughts???

I don't see any debate when it comes to the Disney animated films that have gone the Lowry route.

They are not restorations in any sense of the word.

They are "New Editions" which set the highest standards for animated film via digital technology.

As I've noted elsewhere, the original versions are protected with redundancy and are avilable for study. Should the Disney organization be so desirous, the films can be placed into theatrical distribution in either their original form or via the new Lowry Editions.

As entertainment value, we are only gaining in quality and transparency. This is a win-win situation.

Mr. Toell has advised that we claim total ownership within the known universe of the word "word" as well as "words."

We're now in the midst of copyrighting and trademarking the terms "film," "motion picture," "sprocket hole" and "Home Theatre Forum," not to be confused with a little known website "Home Theater Forum."

And are probably safe, as there are no attorneys in D.C.

Mr. Harris, do you own copyright to "Cinderalla"?
