'COYOTE UGLY' dvd, how is it?

I saw this film on USA last night and really liked it, I want to pick up the dvd but would like some info on it first regarding image quality, audio quality, aspect ratio and extras.

Thanks.

Definitely a guilty pleasure for me too, and the current disc looks and sounds great, but you may want to wait as there is a rumor of a new unrated special edition coming out this summer though.

Where did you hear that? I'd really be surprised as the current version has quite a few extras, and it was always shot for a PG-13 so there is nothing to make it unrated.

DVD Empire list an unrated version coming out in June. They also show a new edition of Gone in 60 Seconds.

Cool! Thanks fellas.

I think i'll still pick up the current one though for the time being, I think it's only $9.99 at Best Buy. Come June i'll get the unrated one and trade this one in at a place near my house.

Here's to the possibility of the unrated edition featuring some shots of the Coyote's topless...especially Piper Perabo, she's a cutie.

Thanks again, guys.

There was a 'R'-rated cut released on VHS, but I don't know what was removed to get it to PG-13. Let's hope a hot-tub sequence

Welp, I bought it. I got a used copy at my local Coconuts for $7.99, not bad at all.

I just got through watching it, great disc! The audio was outstanding, especially the frenzied bar sequences, the DTS 5.1 track really brought those scenes to life, very active surround activity and a convincing sense of location and ambience with the crowd and music just loaded with LFE.

Also, the 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer looked spectacular on my 96" Infocus X1, the colors were a knockout.

I expected the presentation to be good, but I didn't expect it to be THIS good! All in all, a great discovery for me and a hell of a great dvd.

Now, bring on that unrated edition! It's official, i'm in love with Piper Perabo. :b

Are you thinking of the right movie? COYOTE UGLY was never released in an R rated version.

It was a rather tame PG-13, can be shown on TV pretty much unedited.

EDIT: Ok, I checked and the IMDB does list a VHS only R rated version. But, it could just be confusion over a typo on the first Amazon VHS release (which had it rated R). Can't find any info other than that. All the VHS versions out there, and on Ebay, seem to be PG-13.

So....why isn't your new best friend included in your list of THIS week's female celebrities then?!?!

An impressive list BTW...

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!
