This week Ken McAlinden reviews Albert Lewin's MGM adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, a highly awaited release that gets notable recommendation. Todd Erwin gives us two reviews of the recent "Indie" releases, Harold, starring Spencer Breslin -and- Dororo, a live-action comic book adaptation directed by Akihko Shiota. Which DVD Version of Day of The Triffids?

I didn't even know this was out and now I find there are 2 versions. ONe from Cheezy Flicks and one from Allied. I'm reading mixed reiviews on the quality of both, would like to hear from anyone with either version on both the sound and picture quality. I know the Cheezy Flicks version is widescreen but I'm reading it plays very poorly...so would I be better off to try the other one?

This link should help. I LOVE this movie but find it was only available in R2. (You don't say where you are located.) It's a thread I started in the Regional DVD area asking for opinions on it. Hope this helps!

The R2 disc isn't so good, being ported over from the old Image Widescreen laserdisc version.

I still have the laser.
