Any news on TNE NUNS STORY and SHOES OF THE FISHERMAN?

I thought I had read that "The Nuns Story" and "Shoes of the Fisherman" were coming out on DVD in November. There seems to be nary a word about it since. Have they been cancelled????

Ken,
Except for that news story which I believe came out of USA Today, no site has officially listed either titles for preorder.

It was suppose to part of a "Chirstmas boxset but those 2 titles are not in the boxset. I sure hope they have not been cancelled.

It's too late for hope because neither title is showing up anywhere for release this year.

Ken, check the original thread and you'll see they were never part of the box, just intended to come out at the same time.

Maybe, like The Last Days of Pompeii, Warners are leaving it to the eleventh hour to get 'em out there; like you I'm just hoping they haven't been cancelled.

We're still waiting on Zinneman's Julia from Fox which was readied for release and copies are, in fact owned by HTF members who picked up a few renegade sets! So don't talk to me about The Nun's Story... yet!

I'd love to see The Nun's Story on DVD along with many other Zinneman films, but Julia is ready to go and. Come on, Fox!

The Nun's Story - still coming on 11/8?

Does anyone know if the great Audrey Hepburn/Fred Zinnemann film "The Nun's Story" is still on track for November 8th release from Warner? It's only 3 weeks away, but the DVD still isn't available for pre-order anywhere. Thanks.

It sure doesn't look like it.

My guess is that they'll be part of an Easter promotion.

Looked both of these up at Amazon.com yesterday and Amazon has them scheduled for release on December 31, 2005.

Which is VERY cool since I do want them in my collection but then I realized that 12/31 is a Saturday and most releases are on Tuesday.

So, I'm not counting on them being available but hopeful that I'll wander through a store just after the New Year and there they'll be.

The Nun's Story is so lovely, such a lovely and uncompromising film.
