The Underworld Lives and Dies by its Own Rules

THE CODE

Making its US Debut on DVD and VHS May 11

Culver City, CA (March 1, 2004) - Samuel Le Bihan (Brotherhood of the Wolf) stars in
Manuel Boursinhac's THE CODE, the hardcore, international cult-hit that melds Tarantino-esqe
attitude with the beauty and violent serenity of Miller's Crossing. THE CODE, which had a
limited theatrical release will street May 11 on DVD and VHS (rental) from Columbia TriStar
Home Entertainment.

For Dris (Samuel Le Bihan) and his best friend, Yanis (Samy Naceri), growing up in the
bleak concrete jungle of Paris, meant rites of passage ranging from petty break-ins to armored
car robberies, but their luck finally ran out and Dris got sent to prison. Now, four years later,
Dris is finally back home and all he wants is to lead a quiet life and settle down with his fiancé,
Lise, who begs him to abandon his criminal life. But Yanis has since grown into a fearsome mob
boss and wants his old friend to come back. Dris is unable to resist the pressures from Yanis and
the seductions of his former lover, a gypsy hooker named Nina, and finally agrees to one more
heist. But they haven't counted on Feche, godfather of the Paris night and sworn enemy of
Yanis, who's been hatching his own violent plan... Once back into the world of organized crime,
Dris discovers that the code of the streets is strict and the penalty for betrayal is far worse than
prison. Torn between loyalties, Dris must decide whether adhering to the code is worth risking
his life.
