Congratuations to Disney
I recently picked up the 4-disc version of Pearl Harbor. The first disc in the set had glue on the surface that left permanent marks on the disc when removed and it skipped pretty bad. I picked it up from Columbia House for $15 because they're dumping all their Disney stock, so returning it wasn't an option. So I visited the Disney web site and found their customer service number for DVDs.
First of all, I got to speak to a very nice American lady. After recently dealing with customer service people from Mexico and India, I really appreciated being able to speak with someone without having to repeat everything multiple times. Plus she was incredibly nice. The other customer service people I've spoken to recently were neither nice nor helpful (they suggested I visit the store in person to work out my issues even after I explained that the store was in Dublin, Ireland and I'm in Oregon).
Second, in under five minutes, they agreed to send a replacement disc (all four actually) along with a return mailer to send back the bad discs. Totally free of charge.
I was impressed at just how easy it was to get my problem straightened out.
