I think we might see an announcement after the Oscar ceremony in a couple of weeks.

This is one the greatest movies I have ever seen. EVER. In the opening scenes with the barely passable child actors I was worried. But my worries were 100% unfounded.
I LOVED this movie, and I sure hope it get an all out SE

pretty good movie. I particularly enjoyed it because it looked as though it were filmed near a place where I'd been last summer, who knows maybe I drove through the same streets they'd shot scenes on.

Yup. After yet another Oscar injustice where Academy politics outweigh individual merit, look for Mystic River to hit DVD and home video.

Keith, unless you were in South Boston, you were not on those streets. Clint insisted that it be filmed in Southie for realism. If you were visiting Southie, then yup, you have seen those areas.

I agree, if Mystic River wins *anything* it would be a terrible injustice to all other films nominated.

I was up in Boston but not in that area. I thought it was in one of the smaller towns around that area like Lynfield. Still a good movie regardless .

The injustice has already been done...Paul Giamatti overlooked for American Splendor.
The Oscars are a farce. Any organization that pretends to celebrate excellence in filmmaking and then fails to give directing Oscars to Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, and Martin Scorsese is a joke.

Great film!
The pacing and raw, emotional power near the end was extremely intense. Eastwood knows how to let his films simmer to a boiling point.
