"Booty Call: The Bootiest Edition" Press Release from CTHE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"Two thumbs up! Very funny." -- SISKEL & EBERT
"Sassy, brassy and full of mischief. Down-dirty hilarious."
-- Bob Strauss, LOS ANGELES DAILY NEWS

BOOTY CALL: THE BOOTIEST EDITION
************************************************** ******************
Debuts on DVD on April 13, 2004
Culver City, CA (February 2, 2004) -- A planned night of love turned into a
double date from hell when Jamie Foxx (Upcoming Movie Breaking All The Rules) and
Tommy Davidson (Bamboozled) attempted to "get close" to their dates, Vivica A. Fox
(Kill Bill) and Tamala Jones (Two Can Play That Game), in Booty Call. And now, the
funniest, sexiest urban comedy of the '90s is back and more outrageous than ever in a
brand new, special deluxe presentation. Booty Call: The Bootiest Edition will premiere
on DVD on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.
After weeks of dating, Rushon (Tommy Davidson) and Nikki (Tamala Jones)
think they might be in love. But they know they're in lust. There's just one little problem
-- Nikki insists on double dating with her best friend Lysterine (Vivica A. Fox) on the
night Rushon has reserved for romance. So Rushon brings his rude, crude, sex-obsessed
best boy Bunz (Foxx) to keep Lysty busy, and turns Nikki's double date into a hilarious
date with disaster.
Directed by Jeff Pollack and written by Takashi Bufford and Bootsie (aka J.Stanford
Parker), Booty Call: The Bootiest Edition includes the original film remastered in Hi-
Definition, a brand new featurette on the making of Booty Call, a previously unseen
alternate ending, and best of all, a newly-recorded filmmaker commentary that reunites
the director and writers with stars Jamie Foxx, Vivica A. Fox and Tommy Davidson.

Ah, Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment, what a sorry state of affairs you have lowered yourself to.

Ooo, I hope this means we can look forward to Bootiest Editions of Spiderman and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

A brand new DTS version of Annie gets pan and scan only, and other fine movies have their widescreen sides removed, yet a new SE of Booty Call gets 16x9.
Columbia needs to get their mind right.

dudes... am I crazy? Is there anything wrong with this edition?
WHY KNOCK IT???
Who cares what the movie is, I don't care if it's Steel Magnolias, Leprechaun 69, "Shorty lays Chucky" or other movies I would never buy. The point is getting it right for ALL movies. NO MOVIE deserve to receive the Pan and Crap treatment. CTHE should be praised and encouraged to do this with all movies.
Yes I get it, you just mean you are shocked that such deserving movies get sh*t treatment, I agree. But let's fight those battles on those grounds, let's not bad mouth a good release based on how we feel about the movie.
Idle hands or Casablanca all deserve OAR as a minimum and any extras should be appreciated.

I actually think "Booty Call" is a funny movie. Jamie Foxx cracks me up. and Bernie Mac has a cameo that steals the show.
My bad, I guess.
That said, I don't know if I like it enough to OWN it. But it's nice to know there's a Special Edition if I ever DO decide to pick it up.
oh, and Matt: where is your sig from? I swear I've read that line in a script somewhere..

I know it seems easy to knock such a silly movie for receiving such an expansive "booty edition", but heck...
One guy's classic is another guy's crap.
Did people snicker when you brought home that SE of Killer Klowns from Outer Space? Or UHF? Or Supergirl?
Do I dig Booty Call? No, not really. But lots of people do, so this SE is for them.
I only posted the press release because I love the word "Bootiest".
