They might just add a few seconds and not make substantial changes. Sometimes it's very tough to tell the difference between rated and unrated cuts...

...which, of course, begs the question, "Why bother?" The people who really are looking for something substantial to be added will be disappointed, too, and then everyone will grow even more tired of the "unrated" marketing angle.

I agree that the "unrated/extended/whatever" thing has really gotten old. If it is truly the director's preferred version, then fine, but sometimes scenes that have been taken out need to stay out.

Of course, now that I've said this, I'll still probably buy this disc, but shouldn't the new transfer and all the new (to R1, anyway) extra content be enough to sell it?

So now that Crimson Tide, Con Air and Enemy of the State are being rereleased, any chance for Armageddon to get a new special edition that's...you know...anamorphic?

Tim, I too would like Armageddon in anamorphic.

A lot of people bash it, but I like the movie, good enoyable popcorn-flick.

But I haven't bought any version yet, due to them all being non-ana.

Not sure if this matters to you or not but the CC edition of Armageddon is beautiful. It looks better than many anamorphic DVD's I have.

It's also really expensive, especially here in Canada!

The funny thing about Armageddon..the Blu-ray version will likely be available before an anamorphic version. This will be the case with other movies, as well.

I assume that it's just an error that DVD Empire still lists the Crimson SE as streeting tomorrow:

I'd say it's just an error. I put it on order Friday when I saw that, and it would have listed as In Stock in my account by now if they had it. Also they'd likely have the back cover art up by now if they had it.

As of today, we're still getting this in May.

[checks again]

Nope, still May.
