Is Prizzi's Honor in the wrong aspect ratio?

It states on the box that 1:85 is the theatrical ratio wheras IMDB and dvdverdict.com say it was shot in 2:35:1 ratio. I also noticed it is not on this forums comprehensive non-OAR list. So is 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 correct?

The IMDb has it listed as 2.35:1 also. I trust them most implicitly.

I don't. IMDb posts whatever information anyone sends in to them, correct or not. The amount of misinformation they have, especially regarding ARs, makes them far from definitive.

The Anchor Bay disc was 1.85:1.

The IMDB isn't always correct about the AR...

I read somewhere that MGM will be releasing a SE later in the year. Do they even have the rights to it? And didn't they release a bare-bones edition a few months ago?

It's a fantastic film. Great ending. Huston made unique, exciting films to the very end. The Dead is great, where's the DVD?

Yes, MGM has the film under license from Disney. Complaints about the quality of the source materials should probably be directed Disney's way.

"Prizzi's Honor" is definitely 1.85:1. The only reason that I'm so sure is that I saw it a few years ago at an ancient revival house that wasn't equipped with a 1.85:1 mask, so all "flat" films were presented in the Academy ratio.

I distinctly remember seeing all the camera shdaows and microphones while watching the movie because it wasn't masked properly.

Yes, Prizzi's Honor is a 1.85:1 movie! The LD is also 1.85:1

Huh? I thought Fox released this one, but I guess it ultimately would revert to Disney in some way or another, since it was produced by ABC Motion Pictures.

Prizzi's Honor is most absolutely 1.85:1.
