Monty Python's Flying Circus complete collection. (I know it's 14 discs, but it's all in one box.)

A Man For All Seasons. Not that it's a reference DVD, but because it's a fabulous movie about a fabulous saint.

God forbid I'm ever put in this situation cause I can't even pick theoretically.

TV - Family Guy undoubtedly

Film:
Pulp Fiction: CE
Adaptation.
Vanilla Sky
Almost Famous: Untitled
The Third Man: CC
Amelie: SE
8 1/2: CC

Box Set - Indiana Jones

That's as narrowed down as you're getting it.

My vote goes to High Fidelity. This movie always amazes me. If you ever lose your compass and need help finding out what is important, this movie can help. (At least it helps me.) Love and music can help most human conditions!

I am very surprised that no one has listed 'The Big Lebowski' yet. As much press as that movie gets around here, it has to be on someone's desert island list.

Probably In The Mood For Love Criterion.....or Fellowship Extended. Both of these sets feature first rate films, along with a plethora of quality extras.

Not playing by the rules? Hands down I'd take the Back to the Future Trilogy, as I have probably watched those movies more than any other movies.

But just one single movie? For ever and ever?

The Goonies!

Hey David, good taste in movies! If you check out the first post, I picked the Big Lebowski. "Have you ever heard of a place called Vietnam?"

Sorry to be the cliche, but Citizen Kane.

If, when The Magnificent Ambersons comes out on DVD, they've miraculously dug up the original version from somewhere, I'll take that instead, without a shadow of doubt.

Eric,

Oops. I looked at your list but not the text of your original post. TBL is one of my favorite films and would definitely go to the island with me. If you look at it critically, TBL is not one of the greatest movies but there are so many lines that just hang in your brain for months after you watch it. Just priceless!
