Borg Cube - Complete Next Generation Collection - Gotta' Spare £450 ($747) ?

I did a quick search and couldn't find any mention of this:

Quote:
Paramount have just sent us full details of their November 3rd release of The Borg Megacube. This set will include every single episode from all seven seasons of the highly acclaimed Sci Fi TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation. Containing no less than 48 DVDs and boasting a £449.99 RRP, this could be the largest and most expensive commercial DVD box set released to date.

These will be limited to 1000 sets.

You can find the full press release and box art here.

At 450 pounds, that's about 64 pounds a season, a bit more than the going rate today, but the 450 is MSRP.

Interesting idea, and if I hadn't already bought all 7 seasons individually it would be an "easy" way to get everything, but no way in hell am I double-dipping for this...

Perhaps when TOS is re-issued in season boxsets, I'll hold off until an all-in-one set is released as well, which no doubt Paramount will do.

I'm sore that Virgin now has the sets on sale for £34.99 ea.!!!! I could have saved a couple hundred quid!

Needless to say I'm going to hold off on Voyager to see if they do the same thing with DS9 a year on...

For us in the USA, this set can be had for just under 291 pounds after VAT is subtracted, with shipping from Amazon UK.

HMV is also offering a massive discount over online prices for the box sets of TNG and DS9 currently out (I don't think it will apply to new releases and might just be to eliminate stock on hand): £44.95 each down from RRP of £84.95.

If you don't have 'em yet you can save £14 off the play.com price!
