Yes, thats all it is.But i still wish they would release it, for completeness sake

Yes it would be nice, but forgive me if I don't lament over that dis-inclusion as I would have if the Alien DVDs did not include the Dallas Cocoon sequence, or something like that.

Actually Nightmare 1 had more than the kiss cut... There was Tinas bloody popping bubble of blood as she hits the bed (I have not seen it), Glens death was toned... 30 minutes of deleted scenes were on the laserdisc... The whole subplot with Nancy's sibling getting murdered by Freddy, more character development scenes, etc...

The book states that Glen, Rod, Tina, and Nancy all had their siblings killed by Freddy... Thats why they are all only children now... It did try to connect them to each other more and why Freddy was coming after this group...

If I remember correctly, the uncut Nightmare 5 is where Freddy feeds Greta her own stomach (not the dolls)... It was pretty nasty if I remember correctly... Havent seen it since 1989 though (the uncut version)...

I am actually pretty surprised not one thing at all has slipped out about the Friday the 13th set yet..

The set has been being worked on... You would think something (even one thing) would have slipped out by now... Paramount has done a pretty good job of keeping this set pretty quiet up to this point...

I am very interested in what the specs will be...

There's been several things that have been talked about of special features that'll be on the set. Here's a link to a message board that has a thread discussing all the news on the set: http://www.fridaythe13thforum.com/sh...threadid=28219

The first post is updated eveytime something new comes up. Enjoy!

I have the officially released Video CD of the original Friday the 13th. It was released in China (I believe) a couple years ago. I've met Tom Savini several times and I got him to autograph it for me. The picture/audio quality is superb, but it contains no extra features.

Give us the Friday the 13th films uncut!

Heard an interesting rumour this evening that the so called "Special Editions" of the series are not going to be that special after all. Without going into much details, what is hoped for is going to be much like pissing in the wind.

If such is the case Paramount...thank you, have you spared me about a hundred bucks this fall to spend elsewhere....

Chuck,

Gossip, Gossip... Dont leave us in suspense... Share what you heard... Dont let us go on being excited if there is no point...

I have a feeling you dont have good news to spread... In any event, better to tell us now, so at least I dont go with false hope for 6 more months...

Also, it's possible that who told you whatever could be wrong, but I would still like to know what you heard anyways...

I believe the news was going around that this would be a 4 disc set at one point.

This would mean 2 films, plus special features (perhaps only commentaries and odd deleted scenes) per Disc!

\"Would you recommend this movie to a friend?\"
\"Only if I was friendly with Hitler.\"

I am at a loss for words. I had gotten fairly excited at the possibilities. Of course I feel it could go either way.

Paramount is always throw of dice. They usually do a GREAT job with transfers. I cannot complain about many of my DVDs in terms of PQ or Soundtrack. Extras? well they did really good with the Trek Movies but they seem almost ashamed of their Friday the 13th movies.

Anyone know how they ended up selling the rights to Newline?

I hope they go all out but odds are they won't put too much effort. Will it look good? yes, will there be some cool extras? I am sure.

But will they dig deep, find unrated cuts, mix and match where it is needed, restore when required? Why, most of us will re-buy even with half effort.

If an uncut Friday 2 or 7 falls on their lap in mint condition will they use it? ABSOLUTELY. Will they dish out $ and time to hunt for it?

We'll see I guess...

Well, let's not be too surprised by that. These films may have made Paramount a ton of money, but they are not exactly "good" films. Fun maybe, but don't forget how tremendously cheesy they can be. Not even scary at all once you pass the age of 10.

What does that mean? They are going to release the special editions gradually at the rate of 2 films per release? I know that it is just a rumor, but is that the premise of it?
