If this is a new transfer, I will end up getting it (probably as a Columbia House enrollment).

Suprised not to see this get a 5.1 makeover.

I'm all over this one!

I've held off buying the original version. Too bad it's not a 5.1 remix, but oh well.

There's no 5.1 mix most likely due to John Singleton's request.

Anyway, Dolby Surround is the original theatrical soundtrack, so it's fine with me.

I wonder if it's a brand new commentary or the excellent one from the Criterion LaserDisc. The Dolby Prologic on the LD is very good, no 5.1 remix is really needed.

Has anyone compared this transfer with the original? I have heard they are exactly the same.

Any reviews or comparisons on this dvd? I am surprised that this dvd has not got more attention than this. This is an excellent movie and a special edition is much deserved. I bought it the week it came out, I just have not had a chance to watch it yet.
