Wouldn't you know it? The month of May ( and beyond ) is going to make me a big spender - not that I mind - it's just that I will probably actually have to wait past the release dates in order to pick up all the titles I would really like to purchase.( It has become somewhat of a "tradition" with me to buy them on the release date ).Is anybody else having the same problem with these anticipated titles? ( At least I will not feel alone ). Please correct me on the dates mentioned if I have made a mistake.

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG SE? Good news! Finally we get the OAR widescreen version!

And CRIMSON PIRATE ??!?!???

That is, without a doubt, one of the most FUN classic swashbucklers ever made! I remember catching it on TV one Saturday afternoon when I was a teenager, and getting so wrapped up in it, that despite myself, alone in the room, I reactively shouted out "YAAAAAYYYYY!!!!" when Burt Lancaster swung down from the top mast to save the girl! Total classic matinee delight! That one's a definite buy!

2003 makes me smile and frown. The smile goes for the wonderful titles announced. The frown goes to thinking of how I'm going to pay for all of them!

Thankyou for some more additions Patrick - I knew I could spend more! I too am waiting for Around The World In 80 Days and a few others you mentioned will have me in fits trying to decide which ones take priority! I have already spent more than I budgeted for since early April!

yes the next few months are going to be packed with great catalog releases.
unfortunately my budget for this stuff is starting to shrink, combine that with the poor job local retailers do of stocking this material, and my massive backlog of unwatched discs and little time to sit down and watch, and for probably the first time since i bought a dvd player, there is more available than i will be able to enjoy for quite a while.

most of the stuff mentioned i will have to wait unitl CH offers it.
the under $10 per disc average, when using sales and other promotions, is about the only way i can justify these large backlogs.

I'm in the same boat, being down for many of the listed above, on top of new releases of current films, and double dipping special editions. I went so far as to offer to work part time at a local DVD specialty (non-chain) store in exchange for credit to afford these upcoming films. (didn't work

DVD Planet has the set listed, but amazon doesn't yet.

It should be here: http://www.dvdplanet.com/product_lis...259&format=DVD

I'm surprised they have 30% off for a David Shepard release. They're usually a little more expensive due to the obvious lower demands than The Hot Chick: Criterion Collection.
