'FREDDY'S NIGHTMARES'-Coming to DVD!

http://www.r2-dvd.org/article.jsp?se...articleId=5293

It's region 2,and only 3 episodes, but if it sells well, more will come and a region 1 release should follow.

Episode guide: http://www.elmstreet.co.uk/nightmares/series1.html

"Hey,Merit! Ever had a man in your bed before? Don't worry.I'll be REAL gentle."

Glad to see this series is getting a DVD release somewhere in the world, even if we'll have to wait some time before an R1 release.

Can't wait to get a hold of these imports.

Slightly off topic, I know there was a recent thread on this, but I think it's probably gone dead. I was hoping that someone could answer anyway. I was thinking of getting the "Elm Street" Boxed set. I know it can be had someplaces for as little as 50+ Dollars. For that price, are any parts of the set discontinued (3-D "Freddy's Dead" ending, booklet etc.)

WillG,it's the exact same boxset. The reason for the $50 price at some places is because it's from Canada,so the exchange rate is more favorable to America.

Yeah I know it's the Canadian thing, but I've seen it cheap in some places in the U.S. as well. so just curious. Thanks

Any idea as to what episodes are on this? I might pick it up if it has the first episode (which is about Krugar's origins). I remember watching this show when I was a kid!

I would assume it's the first 3 episodes.

Spoiler:

No More Mr Nice Guy:

Starring:
Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger

Storyline:
This episode is how Freddy first became a dream killer.
It starts out in the courtroom as Freddy is released on a technicality and disappears in the town. The townspeople form a lynch mob to go hunt him down, while the Springwood Sheriff is looking out for his twin teenage daughters who were the last victims that Freddy was after before he was arrested. Meanwhile Freddy is caught in the boiler room and laughs maniacally as the Sheriff pours gasoline all over Freddy and sets him on fire.
The second half of the episode is about the Sheriff being haunted in dreams by Freddy and he slowly starts to fall apart. Freddy eventually makes the Sheriff one of his first dream victims.

It's a Miserable Life

Starring:
Lar Park Lincoln as Karyn
John Cameron Mitchell as Bryan
Burr DeBenning as Dr. Serling
Peter Iacongelo as Dad
Nancy McLoughlin as Nurse

Written by Michael De Luca and Paul Rosselli
Directed by Tom McLoughlin
Storyline:
Bryan has the nightshift at the Beefy Boy restaurant. He is stalked by a strange man on a motorcycle. When Bryan goes home he starts to see some very strange things. And hear things too. It all leads to an inevitable end.
The second half of the episode is about Bryan's girlfriend Karyn, who is sent to Springwood Mercy Hospital after suffering from a gunshot wound. After going under the gas in Surgery, Karyn starts to see things aswell. Which also includes the motorcycle man.
P.S. Lar Park Lincoln was also in Friday the 13th Part 7:The New Blood

Killer Instinct

Starring:
Yvette Nipar as Nickie
Lori Petty as Chris Ketchum
Kane Picoy as David

Written by Allen B. Ury
Directed by Mick Garris
Storyline:
This episode is about Chris Ketchum, a track runner who tries to be her best at running, just like her deceased mother. Chris's coach gives her a talisman that once belonged to her mother and automatically her luck starts to change for the better... until. Whatever she imagines while looking into the talisman comes to life. The sleazy chef slicing off his fingers, the school teacher coughing up feathers until he chokes, etc. Tragedy strikes when her competitor Nickie steals the talisman and imagines Chris's demise.
The second half of this episode is centred on Nickie as the guilt about the death of Chris eventually makes her see the corpse of Chris sipping tea in her families house, chasing her down the street and haunting her dreams.
P.S. If you watch the opening scene credits where you see the credit "Directed by Mick Garris" you can see Freddy Krueger himself walking by. He drops his hat and picks it up.

Oh,and Rob... it's Krueger,not Krugar.

There were only 8 Freddy centered episodes,so I assume they would spread those episodes out.I really don't care if they aren't released in order,as long as they come out.

In general, I'd say "Freddy's Nightmares" was a pretty awful show... but I'd still buy this if it came to region 1/NTSC. I'm that desparate for horror anthology shows on disc (plus, I'm a huge Elm Street fan, anyway).

Now, where the heck is "Tales from the Crypt," "Amazing Stories," "Tales from the Dark Side," or the 80s's "The New Twilight Zone"?

This is AWESOME news! I used to love watching Freddy's Nightmares when I was growing up. Didn't it come on with War of the Worlds? Both of those shows used to really freak me out.

Interesting that Wonder Woman and Dukes of Hazzard are also on that R2 list of Warner releases.

I just checked to see what Warner lists for R1 from June 1st and onward. None of the above R2 titles are on the R1 list...at least not yet.

In fact, it's not a long list yet, and all stuff we already know about:

06/03/03 $19.98 So Little Time Vol. 3 (DVD)
06/03/03 $19.98 So Little Time Vol. 4 (DVD)
06/03/03 $49.98 South Park: The Complete Second Season (DVD)
06/10/03 $39.98 Arliss: The Best of Arliss (DVD)
06/17/03 $19.98 3-2-1 Penguins: Moon Menace on Planet Tell-a-lie (DVD)
06/17/03 $19.98 3-2-1 Penguins: The Doom Funnel Rescue (DVD)
06/17/03 $19.98 Liberty's Kids V.1 (DVD)
06/17/03 $19.98 Liberty's Kids V.2 (DVD)
