Amazon.com and DVD Empire recently bumped the release date of Criterion's "by Brakhage: An Anthology" from May 6 to June 10. The delay was confirmed today by Jon Mulvaney in an e-mail he sent to me:

Just a minute ago I completed an order anticipating this one to ship next week. It's already been delayed once. Maybe they are adding post-mortem documentary material. I stupidly missed a recent retrospective of his work and have been looking forward to this release for what seems like ages now.

With a release as complex to put together as this Brakhage set, Criterion should take as much time as they need to get it right. His work simply isn't worth compromising in any way.

Besides, once you actually have the disc, you'll forget all about the many months you spent waiting. It's better this way.
