Now that WAIT UNTIL DARK is scheduled for release on August 5th, that leaves only one more Audrey Hepburn classic from WB to look forward to: THE NUN'S STORY.

Audrey sure was good for Warner Bros. - three films, three different genres, three commercial and artistic home runs.

Warner Bros. no longer owns THE PASSENGER. It's owned by Jack Nicholson, who had previously licensed it to WB.

WOMAN IN THE WINDOW is owned by MGM/UA. Although theatrically released by RKO in 1944, it was an independent production that was purchased by United Artists at some point in the '50s or '60s. (I don't know when exactly).

Conrad_SSS: Much obliged for the info. Edited my post to reflect this. I had heard a rumor that Jack owned The Passenger & was none-too-keen on a DVD release (hope the latter isn't true).

Of all my classic films on DVD, the Warner releases are my favorites.

I'd personally like to see a double-feature DVD with The Cameraman and Spite Marriage. Perhaps WB could commision new scores for the two. The Cameraman was restored in 1990 (watch the old MGM/UA tape and you'll see why) but still retained its horrible sounding piano score from 1927. With those two movies on DVD, it would complete the collection of Buster Keaton's silents (WB can wait for another decade for the talkies for all I care!)

Tod Browning could have another double feature consisting of Freaks and The Devil-Doll.

Some Warner releases I'd like to see:

Lon Chaney films (The Unknown, The Unholy Three (1925 and 1930 versions), Tell It To The Marines, etc...perhaps a box set of Chaney silents...)

MGM silents:
Greed
The Big Parade
The Crowd
Ben-Hur

Garbo/Gilbert silents:

A Woman of Affairs
Love
The Flesh and the Devil

Max Fleischer Popeye cartoons

Tell The Weinstein Company to release Richard Williams' animated masterpiece The Thief and the Cobbler on DVD in Panavision widescreen and uncut! See and hear what you're missing from their Bitsy Award winner of Worst Standard Edition DVD of 2006 on YouTube!
