Ted,
where did you find La Belle Nouseiuse?
i'm region free, but i'm still waiting to see it pop up in the UK or R4.
if its French, they usually casn't be bothered to provide an English sub-title stream- even tho every single title here seems to have one (imo, a REAL reason to hate the French)

I think there is a R3 version as well, but you are on your own there.
About subtitles: no, this Rivette box doesn't have them. I don't think there is malice or even laziness on the part of the distributor though: they want to sell the UK rights to a British DVD distributor and they have a much better chance of doing it if the French release doesn't have English subs.
Here on the other hand, the US & Canada tend to be the same "territory" when it comes to video rights, so the R1 distrib needs to put French subs for Quebec.
In any event I probably have close to 50 R2-France DVDs which DO have English subs.
Ted
Hold on tightly, let go lightly.

Once Upon a Time in the West
Duel (it was supposed to come out a year ago but was delayed and still no word after all this time).
The Adventures of Ford Fairlane
The Brood
And as much as I want to see the original Star Wars Trilogy on DVD, I'll even settle for the Special Editions as they are now because there is strong evidence that Lucas is working on some kind of Ultimate Special Edition of the Original Trilogy. And the idea of there being only one version of the Original Trilogy available on DVD that has even more changes than the dreaded first Special Edition will spell certain doom for my Star Wars fandom.

Steven Good, Parents is or at least was available on DVD. One of the earliest actually as I believe it was released by LIVE Home Video which is now Artisan Home Entertainment. I've seen copies on local shelves as recent as a few months ago.

Out of the movies listed on Scott Temple's post above, I want to see Duel, Terror Train, Chopping Mall, Happy Birthday To Me, Student Bodies & Town That Dreaded Sundown on DVD.
Christmas Evil is on DVD from Troma (I don't own this movie). According to the page at http://www.widescreenadvocate.org/watchdog.shtml it says that the Christmas Evil DVD from Troma is not in OAR.

Nicholas - Fear not, at the rate MGM is releasing their United Artists holdings, WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT will probably be out there within a year, I'm guessing.

So many great titles mentioned and I fear that many of the above suggestions may be true.
Movies I would love to see on DVD (or in any format really) are:-
The High and The Mighty (superb early contender to Airport and if it was Wayne's favourite film why no release. It doesn't make sense).
The Voice of the Turtle- excellent comedy with Ronald Reagan and Eleanor Parker.
Anything Goes- both versions with Bing Crosby.
Cleopatra-the extended version (Elizabeth Taylor).
Run a Crooked Mile- a made for TV movie with Louis Jourdan and Mary Tyler Moore. Very much above average thriller made by Universal.

Jan Troell's The Emigrants and The New Land both starring Max von Sydow and Liv Ullman.
Great, great films.

I'm hoping for The Brood as well. And I'd love to see John Frankenheimer's The Challenge on DVD-- who holds the rights to that one now?

The Brood is available in the UK.
It's a lousy disc, though.
Here's my review.
