Before the Rain--one of the great foreign films of the 90s. Still pertinent today.

Star Wars Original Trilogy--of course

And to whomever said Leolo, it's available in Canada on Reg 1 DVD in a not great non-anamorphic transfer.

When Disney planned to rerelease it in the 90's (with a James Earl Jones filmed introduction putting it in the historical perspective), Maya Angelou and I believe the NAACP claimed they would protest it if they went ahead with the release. So, Disney stopped all plans and said they wouldn't release it again.

My understanding is that this is an urban legend. Can anyone find confirmation of this?

I mentioned Leolo. Just how bad is the transfer. It can't be any worse than the UK video. That look like someone put a sock in front of the lens!

Another movie I would love on disc -

Prince of The City.

Oh yeah... another one just came to mind. "The Pee Wee Herman Show"... that classic HBO comedy special from the early 80s before Pee Wee became well known from the movie Pee Wee's Big Adventure. I'd love to have the full uncut special on DVD, because the version I've seen in recent years (usually shown on Comedy Central) is censored and has about 10-15 minutes of the more gratuitous comedy edited out of it. This was a darker more adult version of the Pee Wee Herman humor we've seen in his movies and his Saturday morning kid's show. It's hilarious and I wish HBO would release it on DVD.

If you want to see it uncut, my avice to you is to get digital cable and get multi-channel HBO. Why? Because the special shows up on HBO Comedy quite a bit and I have seen it and I agree that it is very funny and much different than what he did later.

Anyway, films I fear that won't make it on DVD:

Brewster McCloud
Mom and Dad Save the World
Fierce Creatures (widescreen edition)
What's New Pussycat
Spanking the Monkey
Peter's Friends
Little Monsters
Ben-Hur (1925 silent version)
I Love You To Death
Nuns on the Run
Modern Problems
Richie Rich
North

There are probably more, but I can't think of anymore at the moment.

"...so here we go." --"Punch-Drunk Love"

Last 5 DVDs Purchased: Matinee (1993), Demolition Man (1993), Spaced: The Complete Series (1999-2001), Go (1999), Clerks II (2006)

# of DVDs in my Collection: 754

BABY SNAKES is the one movie I'm holding out for that I don't think will ever see the light of day...the Zappa Family Trust seems to be lagging somewhat in terms of embracing DVD (I believe only one so far has been released, from the Roxy shows)...this could be an awesome multi-disc set if they ever get around to releasing it.
