Andy, I have heard word from several sources that the Dark Shyadows movies are not going to be the same, but remastered versions. I have no idea as to the extended cut of "night" but I do know that House and Night have been remastered for widescreen. I don't think Warner would put out those terrible transfers from the lasterdisc.

Photographing Fairies
Toby Stephens, Emily Woof, Ben Kingsley, Francis Barber.
Excellant acting, photography, and score.
Unfortunately lent my copy to a "friend" and neither came back.
Now only available in region 1 in VHS (oop). May be available as a DVD in region 2.
Apologies if this title has been posted. Did a search and it didn't come up.

Double Life of Veronique

It's probably the only catalog title left that I would buy without hesitation on release day with great anticipation. Alas, no news about it that I've heard.

John, Double Life of Veronique is out next week in the UK. I heard a rumour about a region 1 release, but I cannot recall who the distributor may be; sorry.

"Thieves Like Us"
Sony is probably more interested in putting out "Black Hawk Down" or "Wind Talkers" numerous times than in putting out this Altman classic

Thanks for the info Gordon. I did a search about Veronique right after I posted, and found some dates for other regions, which gave me hope. I heard that the Three Colors box set sold very well, so hopefully they realize there's a market here.

The Monster Squad
Night of the Comet
Three for the Road
Zapped!
Meatballs 2
Private School (Universal had announced this for DVD release and had even produced cover art...but it was cancelled for unknown reasons...)

Re: Films that you fear may NEVER be released on DVD.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but, even though it's not exactly a masterpiece, I'd really like to see a DVD of Look What's Happened to Rosemary's Baby.

The first Rosemary's Baby is my favorite film of all time, and I'd love to have the sequel for the sake of completeness.

I'm being tempted by old PAL VHS copies on Ebay, but a DVD would be so much better. C'mon Anchor Bay, Blue Underground, etc...!

(I'd also like to see the previously announced Mark of the Devil II. Anchor Bay had it scheduled a few years ago, but it mysteriously disappeared without trace.

bad news is, Paramount actually controls the sequel to ROSEMARY'S BABY, so it is rather odd they haven't done anything with it. It is almost as if studios frawn upon old TV movies.
