On the same disc is another Hackman flick, The Domino Principle, and it is also presented open matte.

It has a strange "documentary" intro that I don't remember being in the original US release version. I think the movie plays better without it.

Man Friday, however, has a curious way of staying with you, despite (maybe because of) the silly singing by Richard Roundtree (!).

Funny how Roundtree's faux Jamaican accent comes and goes. And that hang glider - it's soooo 18th century. I do like the movie though.

I really like JerryKILL's list. To it I would add:

BREAKING POINT (Fox)
DEADLY HERO (Embassy-->Studio Canal?)
PERMISSION TO KILL (Embassy-->Studio Canal?)

DEVIL TIMES FIVE is due out in a few months, and TWILIGHT'S LAST GLEAMING, THE DROWNING POOL, THE MACKINTOSH MAN, LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR, and BREWSTER MCLOUD are all in various stages of production.

I believe 92 IN THE SHADE is part of the ITC library, and is probably in the Lion's Gate stable.

JeffreyK,

DEADLY HERO is controlled by Castle Hill now

on the magnetic and Fox and Live video edition of DOMINO PRINCIPLE, it contained that wacky "manipulate" documentary narrated by Patrick Allen, yet it was not in the original theatrical release nor TV airings. I dunno why?

I guess Avco Embassy must have cut it. Their rights to their ITC releases seem to have expired after only a few years, though. I was completely floored when I first saw that intro, after having only seen the movie without it when it first ran on HBO.

I noticed that THE SAILOR WHO FELL FROM GRACE WITH THE SEA is also now controlled by Castle Hill. Do they control any other Embassy titles?

Me too, in Magnetic video as well as Embassy!

Also noticed you like BREAKING POINT, my favorite Bo Svenson flick! Love that syntherizer score (especially the end credit theme)!

The Reincarnation of Peter Proud is owned by a company called Rysher Entertainment. Anchor Bay tried to get the rights, but Rysher wanted too much money. I have a DVD-r from the Laserdisc.

The Romantic Englishwoman is available in the UK:
Available here (ignore the 4:3 specs - it's anamorphic)

So, The Silent Partner is owned by Lions Gate - really? Brilliant film; long overdue on DVD.

The Spider's Stratagem was recently released in Brazil along with La Luna.

Thanks for the information on Peter Proud. I know where to get the DVDr, but was holding out in hopes it would be released properly by MGM-Sony (whom I mistakenly thought was the rights holder). This has been at the top of my list for years...guess it's time to face reality. According to the Rysher Entertainment website, they apparently have close ties to Paramount. I'm going to shoot them an email about Peter Proud, just to see what they have to say.

Thanks Gordon for the info on The Romantic Englishwoman. I never ordered it as I thought it was fullscreen.

There is another obscure film that is only available in the UK, which i have dim hopes will ever see a US release, The Internecine Project. I have no idea if it is OAR or fullscreenhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...709011-2537413

If anyone knows the aspect ratio of this DVD, any info would be appreciated!
