What happend to The Sure Thing on DVD?????
I love this movie and its one of Reiners best. Great dialouge, great cast and just plain Funny. I remember hearing that it was going to be released but then nothing.
Anyone like this movie as much as I do and would like it part of their collection?

It's MGM. I'm sure it'll come out eventually considering the rate at which they're releasing their catalog product.

I asked about this last year when MGM did a chat with HTF.
Here was the interchange:
Hi MGM, thanks for coming tonight. Any news on releasing The Sure Thing??
Any chance for supplements with Rob Reiner, John Cusack or Anthony Edwards ?? Thanks!
We also LOVE this title! We're trying desperately to secure elements from the rights
holder as we type. We even have Rob Reiner's interest to work with us on the disc. We hope
we can resolve all of the legal obstacles to make a big splash in '02.

Well, I hope it gets here sooner rather than later! I love this movie!

I really enjoyed the Say Anything disc and The Sure Thing is quite a popular movie for its time as well.
I would love to see it with a commentary much the same as Say Anything with Zuniga and Cusack.

If I remember, this was an Embassy title.
MGM may have lost the rights to Anchor Bay. Mr. Heuck, would I be right in stating this?

Who owns the rights to this film? I have been waiting for this to come out for ages! This is one of my all-time favorite John Cusack film.
Gib: I flunk English, I'm outta here. I gotta get a job, and you know what that means. That's right, they start me at the drive-up window and I gradually work my way up from shakes to burgers, and then one day my lucky break comes: the french fry guy dies and they offer me the job. But the day I'm supposed to start some men come by in a black Lincoln Continental and tell me I can make a quick 300 just for driving a van back from Mexico. When I get out of jail I'm 36 years old. Living in a flop house. No job. No home. No upward mobility. Very few teeth. And then one day they find me, face down in the gutter, clutching a bottle of paint thinner and why? Because you wouldn't help me in English!
