I've been really enjoying NBC's Boomtown this season, and have been hearing it may be canceled. I certainly hope not! It is one of the best shows on TV, IMHO. It has become a Band of Brothers reunion; Four cast members, and the creator (Graham Yost) were vets of HBO's stellar mini series.
A question: Will we see a DVD release in the near future? Is it possible NBC is planning a DVD release of the 1st season to drum up ratings/popularity, a la Fox's 24? Is this just wishful thinking?
Anyone else enojying this series, and hoping for it on DVD?

After last night's superb season finale, I thought I'd resurrect this thread, and hopefully get some more replies.
NBC is still threatening to cancel Boomtown, even after it just won the coveted Peabody Award. I certainly think it is the best show on TV right now. It's got great potential for longevity--great cast, writing, and technical merits.
NBC, please save Boomtown, and release it on DVD. I will certainly buy it. It may even help future ratings!

Count me in - I'd definitely buy Boomtown on DVD. Best NBC show since Freaks and Geeks.

I love that the characters are so complex you can't tell what they'll do.
Ray he was'nt involved in Vista Heights or was he?
Fearless he won't kill his former Molester or will he?
Tom He's not an IAD fink or is he?
Steven's was'nt involved in a cover up over his baby's death or maybe he was?
Mcnorris would'nt cover up a hit and run or will he?
These are'nt characters we can always count on to be righteous, but they are infallible heroes. I really like Boomtown and it would be a shame if NBC yanks it. But it would'nt surprise me if they did either,

I watched the pilot and I didn't like the show, but I watched the second episode and loved it. I guess it took a week to get into the storytelling form the show uses.
A DVD set wouldn't save the show. Fox had renewed 24 before the set came out so the set only helped bring in some new viewers. NBC will renew or cancel the show in the next few weeks.

I was under the impression that BOOMTOWN has already been canceled.

NBC will be making their decision in May.
That's why it's important to let them know if you support the show NOW!

Time to bring back this thread.
Well, Boomtown has officially bitten the dust. The last four episodes aired on NBC over the weekend. It was great to see that the last eps saw the light of day, but it was definately bittersweet. IMHO, this was the best show on TV! Unfortunately, it never took off with viewers. Instead, they are getting more Whoopi and Average Joe II. Ugh...
Okay, Boomtown's entire run = 24 episodes (18 season 1 eps and 6 season 2). This should fit nicely into a DVD boxset.
Let's get moving on it, Dreamworks! Who's with me?!

I am! I'd definitely be all over this as a DVD boxed set.
The 11-episode marathon on Bravo was what really got me into the show. Like Gord, the first episode on it's own didn't really grab me in.
