This is absolutely ridiculous. It's becoming more and more apparent that you do have to call in order to get the discs. My check was cashed just shy of 2 months ago and still no discs.

I guess that I'll be calling today. As if my life isn't busy enough, now I have to start calling companies to make sure they live up to promises.

It looks like this is the last season of South Park that I'll be buying.

As an interesting side note, they are still advertising the offer on Comedy Central that when you buy the DVDs, you get the commetary CDs. How can it be that they are still making this offer, when they are supposedly out of discs?

Now that more than a few have received the commentaries, could anyone tell us if they were worth the hassle? Any highlights?

thanks

I just called the 800-441-5449 number and they said I should be receiving it middle of next week. I'm guessing they had no intention of shipping it until I called to harass them.

Well, I only listened to the first 2 minutes of the first commentary and it some some very interesting stuff. The commentary was very serious. I didn't know that 'Cartman gets an Anal Probe' was the only episode to be done with construction paper. The famous 'christmas' episode, that floats around the net, was supposed to be the original pilot but they wouldn't air it.

I'd say the commentaries are some of the best I've heard...they cover everything, from the physical production to the show to episode design to making fun of Bob Saget and any other celebrity guest or person they can think of

Plenty of highlights, but also plenty of downtime. The guys start out great and maintain pretty good energy for a while, but they start to sag after a few shows. Things pick up again with the Christmas show, but the rest of the way the tracks seem inconsistent. Overall, they're fairly good, and I can't blame the guys for running out of things to say - it's tough to chat for five hours! But the tracks aren't quite as much fun as I expected.

Nonetheless, they do offer a lot of enjoyable tidbits. One disappointment: although the statements from Matt and Trey on the case imply the commentaries are uncut, they're not. CLEARLY quite a few edits have been made. These empty spaces aren't overwhelming, and at times it's tough to tell the difference between edits and periods that simply include no remarks. (Like I said, the guys peter out at times.)

However, it seems obvious that a number of cuts appear, which makes me wonder why these suckers couldn't have been included on the DVDs themselves. We were essentially told that Matt and Trey refused to allow censored material on the DVDs, but then we get these edited CDs. Buh?

"drop outs" eh? I wonder if those were the parts that WB objected to and they...had a little accident in the transcribing process.

I just got through to their customer line and amazingly I should excpect to receive my discs by early next week. She asked me name and verified my address.

I got the funny feeling that she scanned down to my name and pulled off the mailing label, applied to a box and then dropped it in the out bin.

I just called myself and after verifying my information they said the CDs are being mailed out this week. I highly recommend calling because it seems that otherwise you won't get your CDs.

Mailed my payment in November, then I called 2 weeks ago (thanks for providing the phone number!) and got my CD's today and "I Am Canadian!"

Just wanted to chime in:

I had mailed my payment in early- to mid- December. I knew about the whole "only valid in USA" fine print, but it also had a Canadian shipping price right on the form. So, I figured I'd try it anyway and see what happened.

When the messages started coming up about having to call to get the discs sent, I was a little reluctant, since I was worried that calling would give them the opportunity to say, "Sorry, we don't ship outside the US!"

However, after reading Stacey's post quoted above, I figured if it worked for a fellow Canuck, it should work for me too. So, just now I called the 1-800 number. The response:

"Those are being mailed out this week, sir."

They had all my correct info on file, and it didn't seem to bother them that I lived in Ontario.

I'm fairly confident (based on other postings here) that I will actually receive the CDs now, but seriously, you have to hound them to get your merchandise? For those that never call, do they just keep the money??
