DTS MA confusion

Ok so this is where i get confused, i havea pioneer 81txv, and a PS3 for my blu-ray, and supposedly the ps3 was updated recently to decode DTS HDMA and TRUE HD, and i thought sweet! so i put in I,Robot, and loaded the DTS HD 5.1 track and there was a definite audio track change (i mean sound cut out receiver switched formats and sound came back) and i watched the movie and DAMN! sounded oh so sweet. anyway now i picked up Pan's Labrynth, and it has DTS HDMA 7.1, so i thought it was gonna be great, but my 81txv only runs it at dts:neo6. So is the movie encoded wrong? or to get true 7.1 hd audio do i need a new receiver? any ideas?

PS. i'm looking at the 92TXH if i need a new one... any comments?

Re: DTS MA confusion

You need to set the PS3 for LPCM output. Decoding is in the PS3, the receiver needs to see a PCM signal not dts.
