continuation of integra 6.8 output delay

I would like to thank those of you that took the time to read my previous thread. It"s not an easy question to answer.I have figured out one way to resolve the sync problem between both zones. This only works using the analog multichannel feature from my Integra 6.5 dvd player to the receiver. Now i cant figure out why my sub isn"t receiving a signal when playing reg cd"s.Is it because in this mode the cd or dvd source has to be in 5.1?I first played Eagles Farewell Tour.At first no sub, then realised this dvd gave me an option. At linear PCM 48kHz,16bit,there was no sub,but switched to DTS3/2.1option, then had full surround including sub.I really don"t understand alot of this stuff. So is there a way with reg cd"s in analog multichannel mode to get the sub to work?Would sure appreciate some feedback.

Thanx, Joe...

Re: continuation of integra 6.8 output delay

Analog input on your receiver most likely bypasses the processing, including stripping the low frequencies off and sending them to the sub. So, I imagine you're stuck.

Thanx for your feed back chuckg.I"m a little confused though,my receiver was displaying the analog multichannel format, which is what i wanted, when i played the Eagles Farewell Tour, after switching to the DTS3/2.1option from the source, where my sub was working,i was still in analog multichannel mode.Reg CD"s don"t give me that option though.Man,i wish i understood this stuff better.Anyway, thanks again for your reply.

Regular CDs don't have a sub-channel. So that's why you don't hear any. However, additional bass will go to the sub when the fronts (L, R and C) and/or the rears are set to "small". In that case the lowest frequencies of the main speakers are sent to the sub instead.

Chuck is right that the analogs may bypass this processing, but if you haven't already, you should give it a try.

Another option would be to use Dolby ProLogic, the "ancient" trick of splitting normal stereo audio. If your receiver has that function (sorry, but I'm not familiar with the Integra) you should try it on that input channel.
