Onkyo 605 + time warner = problem? Authentication
I finally got my Vizio 42" 1080p and hooked it up to my new Onkyo SR605. Cablebox hdmi > TV works fine. Cablebox > Onkyo > TV does not. I RTFMs. I set up the cbl/sat input to use IN1 and DVD to use IN2. I have the Onkyo using HTMI output. The output works fine for the Onkyo setup screens and the DVD, but no cable output comes through.
Then I noticed a quick message about something failing authentication (STB?). So it appears that it just doesn't work using a TW cablebox (Samsung) through the Onkyo. I called TW but they just said that they don't recommend running the HTMI through a receiver.
Does it make sense that running through the Onkyo doesn't work? I can't imagine what else could be wrong.
