No sub output from Denon AVR-1802

Help? Is my receiver broken?

Quick rundown of my audio setup. Denon AVR-1802, fiber 1 directly from DVD player, fiber 2 from Joytech switch for Xbox 360, PS2, & Wii. Digital coax hooked to comcast box.

I noticed my sub wasn't playing yesterday when I had some music being channeled from my computer through the Xbox sharing utility. Started troubleshooting and here's what I found.

Sub works fine if you change to stereo sound rather than 5.1 on all game consoles as well as the tv. However, no sub output whatsoever on 5.1 on both of these. What's weird is, playing a DVD the 5.1 with the sub works fine.

Any suggestions as to what else to troubleshoot. Is it possible for the audio processor to just go bad and produce these kind of results? I know the receiver is old (6-8 years I think) but I've never heard or run across a problem like this before.

I think that may have been it. I can't be sure because I pretty much disconnected and reset everything but it seems to be working now. I had recently changed my front center speaker to a larger model so I had changed that setting to large. It's back to small now.....so I assume changing those setting to large moves much of the bass frequencies from the sub to the speakers set to large?
