Opinions Please (Best $1500)

It seems there are so many choices for a quality receiver in the $1500 price range. I would appreciate any advice/opinions as to which is the best receiver and why.

Check out Ron's thread on the Denon 3808. They can be had for under $1200 and are getting rave reviews everywhere. I have the 4308 and I cannot say enough good things about it.

Thanks for the response. I only hear good things about the Denon 3808. What makes it your choice (Denon 4308)? How does the 3808 compare to or make it better than a comparable Yamaha, Sony, or Pioneer Elite?

Kirk - The 4308 has a little beefier power supply +10 more wpc and a second HMDI video out. It also has wifi and HD radio. Otherwise it is almost identical to the 3808.

I cannot speak of the other brands but I trust the ears of my good friend who hears them all in the business and chose the 4308.
