Last night I sat down to watch my favorite Eric Johnson "Live in Austin TX" concert DVD and it would not play in DTS. It simply defaulted to Pro Logic 2. I then tried a few other concert DVD selections and none of them would play in DTS either (all of which I have played in DTS many times). They would play in Dolby 5.1, however.

I have the Panasonic XP30 DVD player with no built in DD5.1/DTS encoding so the SR800 does all the DD5.1/DTS encoding. So it seems logical that the problem is with the receiver.

Any idea of what could be wrong?

You could try accessing the DVD player's settings and be sure that DTS output is set to "On". It seems strange that DTS would not work and Dolby Digital does because in the receiver it uses the same chip-set.
