HK AVR 635 - OSD not working???

I added some Boston Acoustics Voyager 6 speakers outside. I hooked them up to use the (unused) rear surround outputs on the HK AVR 635 per the owner's manual.

When I try to go to the On Screen Display (OSD) to configure those two outputs the current video signal goes out (as it should) but the OSD never comes up. It's just a dark screen with bars of static on it.

Any idea what I've done wrong? It worked fine before.


I just re-read the manual. I connected the speakers BEFORE reconfiguring the outputs, does it matter? Could that have caused this problem?

Try unplugging the receiver for a few minutes and then rebooting it.

mabe it's defective. i guess buying another one is ou of the question.
