I am in the market for a new receiver and like what I have read about the Audyssey system included on many receivers. However I have two different subs (Mirage OM200 and SVS Ultra 20-39) and am concerned in how the Audyssey system will handle two different subs. Does anyone have any insight into this question?

I would do the setup with only one sub turned on at a time.Then turn both back on after setup of each.That's assuming one is in the front and the other is in the rear of Your system.If the subs are close together that may not work to well.That's My best guess.

How do you have your subs connected to your receiver? If they are connected via LFE through a splitter then run the normal Audyssey set up and you will be good to go. I know with the Denon if you have multi subs hooked up it will work as well.

For those who may have an interest in this question I received the following response from Chris Kyriakakis of Audyssey.

"Audyssey MultEQ XT and MultEQ is capable of handling more than one subwoofers. However, the decision on how many to support lies with the manufacturer of the equipment that licenses our algorithms.

In very advanced AVRs (e.g., the Denon 5805), the manufacturer has chosen to support up to three independent subwoofers. That means that Audyssey can be used to set the delay, trim levels, and EQ for each subwoofer.

In other receivers, the manufacturer simply provides two subwoofer output jacks that are wired in parallel. In that case, it is not possible to set delays and levels individually for each sub. They are both playing the same signal. You can still, however, equalize them by allowing MultEQ to ping them as "one" and create an EQ filter for the combined sum. If you have the ability to place them at approximately symmetrical positions relative to the main listening area then the delays will be about right for both subs.

Finally, depending on what type of system you are putting together, you can also consider the Audyssey Sound Equalizer stand-alone box. This is intended to be used with separate pre-pro and amplifier systems and can process up to eight channels. Although the delays and trims for multiple subs will still be controlled by the bass management choices made by the manufacturer of the pre-pro, you will benefit from much higher (8x higher) room correction filters for the subwoofers.
