need help/advice with a/v receiver with phono inputs

Bear with me! I need to replace my receiver. It will initially be used for music but eventually home theatre and music. I don't want to spend more than $200 so am looking for a 5.1 or even 2.1 receiver-obviously used. I just bought a set of mod 1 Orb's and have a pair of old JBL 2600's that I'll initially use. I do want to use my phono so it appears as if a lot of Denons have that capability. The room for the surrounds is probably 14x22 with one side open to the kitchen so that's one reason for the 5.1 or 2.1 system. Would it be better to find something not as old with less power/features or something older with all the bells and whistles? I have a Samsung dlp with Comcast box for HD but at this point, I would probably just hook the receiver up to the Comcast box for audio-I'm not too knowledgable about the hdmi and all that. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!

For $200 you could purchase a brand new Harman Kardon 3380 stereo receiver on eBay. This receiver offers 80wpc, which is far more than most 5.1 receivers on the market.

I don't have any recommendations for a used 5.1 receiver within your budget, though I'm sure someone on this forum can offer their $0.02.
