Onkyo TX-SR674 help

so my tx-sr674 has been working well for about a month now, and last night i noticed that i wasnt getting any audio out of my rear speakers when watching domino on hbohd through my Sony KDS-50A2000. So i logically turned off my system, took a look at my connections in the back of my receiver, re wired the problematic speakers. checked to make sure everything was hooked up correctly, and tried again. The only problem is that when i turn on my receiver, i get a loud popping sound, and then nothing. It turns off. My tv and scientific atlantic 8300hd work fine, but the receiver cant handle anything with sound. The cable info screen works fine (no audio), but as soon as you flip channels, *pop* and then nothing. oh ya, and im connecting everything through hdmi cables.

Throughly re-check the speakers connections.
