Connecting Receiver to SpeakerCraft SCZ-88 system
Hi guys,
I recently purchased a house that has an SpeakerCraft SCZ-88 (8 zone/8 source) home audio/video distribution center. I am looking to finish off my attic (3rd floor) and was interested in putting in a flatscreen and 7-1 system on this level. I already know how/where I am planning to setup this system, and I currently have a Harmon Kardon AVR-340 7-1 receiver that I will probably use for this.
My SpeakerCraft SCZ-88 has a left and right audio pre-out for each of the 8 zones. Normally this is used to connect to a dedicated 2-channel amp power addional speakers.....
My Question: Is there a way to take the pre-out on my Speakercraft SCZ-88 and connect it to a a standard 7-1 receiver (like my AVR-340) and set this us as a source on my 340? I would still use the SpeakerCraft keypad to control the souce, I would just like to be able to share the speakers connected to my AVR 340 to allow me to play the whole-house audio (from the SCZ-88).... If this isn't an option, is there another viable option to get the same result?
Thanks in advance,
J
