I just finished my rec room, and had proficient cinema series (IW550) installed (7.1) I need a receiver, and have had great experiences with Denon. Does anyone have an opinion, good or bad, about the Denon AVR-687?? It seems to fit my budget, and has all the features I am looking for. Any feedback would be appreciated. I can't seem to find any reviews online.

Hi Casey - the brand new Denon AVR-687 is also known as the AVR-1707, both of which were released this month. This model replaces the AVR-1706. You may be able to find reviews of the AVR-1706.

It's closest competitor is the Yamaha RX-V659, which is also worth considering.

There is a little difference in the 687 and 1707. Not that it's a biggie.. but the 1707 does have the serial remote inputs and outputs.
