Anyone Else Having Problems w Digital Inputs in Their Onkyo HT-S590?
Hi,
I brought home my third Onkyo HT-S590 receiver yesterday, hoping that the third time would be a charm. Below is a description of the problem I'm having and the troubleshooting I've done. If anyone else has this problem and/or has found a solution, please let me know:
Problem Summary: The audio works fine with RCA analog connections but stops working after awhile when either optical or coax digital connections are used.
Setup Notes:
· The Onkyo receiver is being used only for audio. Video is via S-Video from each video source to the TV.
· The coax digital cables are six feet long.
· There is ample circulation of air to cool the receiver.
Problem:
· With any digital connection from any source, the sound will eventually stop working.
· The problem usually occurs after the receiver has warmed up.
· The problem occurs on both speaker sets A and B.
· Turning the receiver off and on restores the sound for a few seconds.
· Happens in both stereo and surrond sound modes.
Notations: YES = the problem occurs. NO = no problem.
