How would you hook this up?

Going for a budget 2.1 system 60/40 music/movies with these components:

Epos ELS-3
Cambridge Audio Azure 540a v2.0
SVS PB10

The problem lies with the PB10: I can run the pre/out from the 540 into the SVS, but there isn't an active crossover to adjust the cutoff to match the ELS-3's. What would you guys do?

Should I get an external crossover unit? Any recommendations?

It looks like your only choice is an outboard crossover or a different system. An outboard crossover won't roll the lows out of the main speakers, however; it'll only roll the highs out of the sub.

Yes, I would hook it up and listen to it before buying anything.
If you like the sound don't spend $$ if you need not.

Wayne is right on point, the question is what is your desire, if you don't mind bass going to the main speakers then the crossover would be a good addition to keep the highs from the sub. However, if you are concerned about the bass going to the mains, then the only way (I can think of) is placing passive crossovers between the amp and the main speakers. Crude, but you can control what goes to the main by selecting what frequency on the passive crossovers you connect the speakers to.
