LD Player audio hookup ?

I finally pulled my Pio 406 LD player out of storage and proceeded to hook it up.
I hooked the optical to my receiver and I have sound. However, I also have a Pio Rf demodulator and can't remember how to hook it up and what exactly it does? (dd5.1/ac-3)

Someone please refresh my aging memory

I have a:
  • Pioneer CLD 406 ld player
  • Pioneer 1014 receiver
  • Pioneer RFD-1 demodulator

I assume their is some setting for the receiver too?

Regards,
Todd

Re: LD Player audio hookup ?

The RF demodulator is to decode laser discs with Dolby Digital (AC-3) sound, and would need to be used if your receiver does not have a RF AC-3 input.

CLD406 RF output>>>coax cable>>RFD-1>>digital cable>>>digital input on receiver

Good for you.

I'm still fighting with my Yamaha DSP-A1 in the living room. Luckily I have another HT system in the bedroom.
