Video Conversion Trouble

I have the Yamaha HT-5860 and am trying to run my Xbox through it using just the standard video hook up. Both mty Componant IN are being used and I'm sick of switching it back and forth. I only ran the componant lines to my projector (very difficult to run). But my receiver will not up-convert the image. Does it need to be S-Video minimum in order to upconvert? I'd try it, but it means buying an adapter, and I don't want to do that unless I have some sort of a clue. Any ideas?

Re: Video Conversion Trouble

I don't think your receiver does upconversion, and in fact most do not. For receivers that don't you must have the same connection type coming in as going out. Maybe you could try a video switcher?
