Re: What's a good Surround sound processor in $200 ~ $500
Tim;
Would you consider using a good mid-level A/V receiver as your processor? I've had very good results with my setup in this capacity, previously with a Denon AVR-3803 and currently using a Yamaha RX-V2500.
I'm not using any of the internal amps of the Yamaha, so its sole purpose in this configuration is as a pre/pro and in the past four months or so I've been using it, I've had fantastic results.
Several mid-level receivers at your price point will outperform dedicated processors, will allow you a better resale value if at some point you decide to upgrade and also provide some back up in the event you needed to service your dedicated amp/s.
Just a consideration... -TD
