HT Receiver Feeding Tube Preamp/Amps

I currently have a tube-amps based setup for music listening which I would like to expand into a home theater audio setup. I'm thinking of getting a HT receiver that has pre-outs and running its front L/R channels through the tube preamp (a Audible Illusion M3A) & amps, and would like to hear about experiences of others who have investigated or have done this.

TIA.

Well the tube pre-amp is pretty much out.. Your AVR will become the pre-amp thus the term pre-outs.

External amplification is a great idea for most all AVRs out there these days.

The ideal way to do this is for your preamp to have a HT pass through. It basicaly sends the signal straight through to the amp. Volume is controlled by the receiver.
