I have been looking to replace my old 4 input with a 6+ unit and read about one from Joytech in a magazine.
After finding out that best buy carried them I went down to the local store found them in the game dept not the HT dept which had the 4 input units(?????).
I found 2 similiar units; the joytech and one from Pelican.
I liked the looks of the Joytech and they both had pretty much the same features and it was $89 vs $99
Getting it home and hooking it up I was not happy.
I use it for a 2nd zone for the rest of my house.
Turning on the 6 ch Rotel amp I immediately blew 2 channels. Video had a strange ripple through it for both DVD & LD so I unhooked it and took it back.
I bought the pelican this time and the extra $10 was well worth it.
Video had never looked better and the audio sounds even better in the kitchen which is nearly 100ft away.
It also has an ethernet hub and digital audio switching; neither one I have a need for.
Can't say if the Joytech was a lemon or what but I can give the Pelican 4 stars for Price and Quality
Stylewise the Joytech wins and even has a nice remote that the pelican don't have...too bad it didn't work. If anyone has a good one please speak up .....
Anyways if you need a good switcher I have not found a better one under $300.
