HK or Onkyo


Harman Kardon Surround Sound Receiver (AVR635) or Onkyo Surround Sound Receiver (TX-NR901)

Don't know much and just starting my HT

Well the strong point with the HK would be the room EQ feature it has.

I recently purchased the HK 435 as a pre-amp and I'm pretty impressed with the EQ. It really made a difference in my overall HT sound quality.

Both really nice, I can see why you would have trouble making a clear choice. Go on your own brand preference perhaps. The EQ feature is a plus for the H/K indeed....

The H/K should have a clear advantage in musical performance, IMHO. The Onkyo will have more electronic gizmos if you require 4,321 inputs and 1,234 DSP modes, etc.
