receiver upgrade or not

guys, I'm a little short on cash right now but I really want to upgrade my receiver, a yamaha 5740. A friend has offered to give me $140 for my 5740 and if I put a $100 to that I can get a refurb onkyo 602. I was thinking about getting one of the 602's for a while, but I dont know if It will be a big improvement or should I just wait and save. these are the receivers that I really have been looking at,yamaha rx-v757, rx-v1500, hk335 or 430/630 refurb from ebay and the pioneer 1015. Only problem is that I wont be able to get the money for one of these for a while, I spent enough for now, any input on which one to buy would be great, I have klipsch sf-3, fronts, sf-1 rears and def tech c1 center, m&k v-1b sub.

I'd be intersted as well. I'm not sure if the Yamaha HTR-5740 that I have are able to drive my New JBL E-80 EC-35 and E-30 rear speakers they should be driven.

Well with the JBL towers the more power the better, but I'd suspect the 5740 to drive them just fine.

If you room is say large and difficult, more power would then really be needed in my opinion.
